Minister of Information Technology Plelesoto: The UAE is a pioneer in digital transformation and we are seeking to build 10 technical training centers

Dubai, February 13 / WAM / His Excellency Nathati Morusi, Minister of Information Technology, Technology, Science and Innovation in the Kingdom of Lesoto, confirmed her country to enhance cooperation with developed countries in the field of technology, foremost of which is the UAE, to support the efforts of digital transformation.
Her Excellency said in a statement to Emirates News Agency “WAM” during her participation in the World Government Summit that Lesoto is still in the early stages of its digital journey and its government is working to develop infrastructure, and enhance the capabilities of citizens and societies, especially women, children and youth, in addition to digitizing schools by providing computers and services Internet. Her Excellency added that Lesoto is witnessing significant investments in the technology sector and seeking to build training centers in all ten country provinces soon and currently includes one training center aimed at enabling more women to use and understand modern technologies, in light of expectations that they will soon constitute 51% of the population.
The Minister of Information Technology at Lesoto indicated that the percentage of women who benefited from these initiatives is still at 7%, but efforts are continuing to expand the scope of training and increase participation.
Her Excellency stressed the importance of cooperation with leading countries such as the UAE, which has made great progress in the field of technology and digitization, praising easily obtaining the Emirati visa via the Internet as an example of digital development in the country.
She stressed that bridging the digital gap between Lesoto and developed countries requires strengthening international partnerships and benefiting from successful experiences in this field.
