Technical management behind the loss of the Asian dream of the basketball team

Al -Hatawi told «Emirates Today»: “The technical management of the national team is behind the (white) exit from the final stage of the qualifiers, especially since the players of the team presented the performance required of them to the fullest extent, and they had greater capabilities that were not employed in the most appropriate way, and they could have achieved the pathological results of the Emirates basket over the three windows.”

He explained: «Dr. Munir bin Al -Habib provided long periods of great services to the Basketball Federation, by virtue of his duties as a technical director of the federation, but he was not in the right place as a coach of the national team, in a mission that was preferred to be assumed by a coach with high technical specifications in reading matches and investing the full capabilities of (Al -Abyad).

Al -Hutawi praised the efforts of the players during the qualifying journey, and said: “All the players performed well in the matches, but they needed a coach capable of employing their capabilities.”

He added: «Significant efforts made by the Basketball Federation over the past years, by providing all means of support, and even supplying the national team with the current victory player, Mamadu India, to strengthen the ranks of (Al -Abyad) with a professional and playmaker of Sharjah Club, Dimarco, and providing the stages of preparation are the longest compared to the rest of the group’s teams, but the weakest link was in technical management.

It is noteworthy that the team achieved a single victory over its six matches in the three windows, at the expense of Bahrain (90-77), compared to defeats against Syria (67-70) and Bahrain (63-78), and Lebanon (77-99), put the team in a difficult position in the third and final window, to dispel the hopes (61-86), and was followed by the conclusion of his career with a loss again against Lebanon.
