المملكة: 2.8 million cubic meters … remove the deposits of the Jazan Valley Dam to enhance its efficiency

The General Irrigation Corporation began implementing the first phase of a project aimed at removing huge quantities of accumulated deposits in the Jazan Valley Dam.
This project, which represents a strategic step, aims to remove approximately 2.85 million cubic meters of sediments, which greatly enhances the flow of water and increases the storage capacity of the dam.

Dam’s efficiency

This ambitious project comes within the framework of the efforts of the General Irrigation Corporation aimed at maintaining dam’s efficiency in the Kingdom and enhancing its storage capacity.
The removal works include the use of a variety of advanced technologies, including hydrocarbon and draining and wet drilling, and the Foundation confirms that all of these operations take place according to the highest technical and environmental standards in force.

Promoting water security

This project is expected to directly contribute to improving water resources management in the Jazan region and ensuring its sustainability. Increasing the storage capacity of the dam means the ability to meet the increasing irrigation needs, support the agricultural sector, and enhance water security in the region.
The General Irrigation Corporation emphasized that this project comes within a series of strategic projects that it implements to develop water infrastructure in the Kingdom and enhance the sustainability of its resources, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious vision of sustainable development.
