The trial of the Maradona medical staff after 4 years after his death

Four years after the death of the Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona, seven health care workers are under trial next week, after accusing them of neglecting in the last days of the 1986 world champion.
More than 100 witnesses, including individuals from the Maradona family and doctors who took care of the former Italian star over the years, will testify during a four -month trial, which will start on Tuesday in San Issidro, one of the suburbs of the capital, Buenos Aires.
If they are convicted, the seven defendants face the prison sentence between eight and 25 years.
Diego Armando Maradona died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 60, when he was recovering from surgery in his brain, following a blood clot, after decades of his struggle with cocaine addiction and alcohol that led to problems in the kidneys, liver, heart and nerves.
A dead person was found in his bed at a rented house in the upscale Tigrey neighborhood north of the capital, after he left the hospital after two weeks of surgery, and it was found that he died after a heart attack.
