Smart techniques for detecting tuberculosis in residence examination centers

Dubai, March 10 / WAM / The Emirates Health Services Corporation announced the introduction of artificial intelligence solutions and techniques in residence examination centers to detect pulmonary tuberculosis using public radiology photography tests.

Through this technique, the Foundation provides the possibility of analyzing radiology images in less than one minute, as the time required to approve the final medical report was shortened by the radiologist, which contributed to accelerating the diagnosis process and starting treatment immediately, which helps to reduce the spread of the disease and improve therapeutic results.

This step comes within the framework of the Foundation’s continuous efforts to improve its health services in all its facilities, and as part of its strategy to enhance the quality of diagnostic services and provide more accurate and speedy health care.

The process of detecting pulmonary tuberculosis is witnessing a remarkable improvement in accuracy and efficiency, since the start of the technique in 2021, as the resolution of the results increased from 80% to 98% in 2024, which reflects the great progress in the capabilities of artificial intelligence to analyze radiology with high accuracy.

Dr. Abdullah Al -Naqbi, Executive Director of the Acting Health Services Sector at the Emirates Health Services Corporation, stressed that the introduction of artificial intelligence techniques in residence examination centers represents an advanced step towards enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of medical diagnosis, and accelerating the detection of infectious diseases, foremost of which is pulmonary tuberculosis, indicating that this technique contributes to raising the accuracy of the tests to 98%, which enhances the ability to quickly interfere and provide health care According to the highest standards.
