Energy for water solutions looking to develop a new project in Uzbekistan

Tashkent on March 11/ WAM/ A tact was signed for water solutions, an agreement, with the new Tashkent Development Authority, to discuss the construction of a 65 -km water transport pipeline, and the development of a leading water treatment plant in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

This agreement represents the second energy solution for biological solutions in Uzbekistan, in an important step towards achieving the vision of the new city of Tashkent, which places sustainability at the top of its priorities, by providing reliable supply of clean water for about two million people, while the signing of the agreement represents a decisive beginning in the stages of developing the water infrastructure project.

Under the agreement, energy for water solutions was given an exclusive period of time to provide a comprehensive evaluation and presentation of the project, which includes depth technical and financial assessments to confirm the feasibility of the project, and to develop proposals for sustainable financing solutions.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi, CEO of Energy for Water Solutions, and Mawzoud Abbaskhanov, Deputy Director of the New Tashkent Development Authority.

The agreement reflects the pioneering status of energy solutions, as a provider of sustainable water resources and reliable societies worldwide, taking advantage of the extensive experiences of the “Taqah” group in developing, operating and managing the main infrastructure projects.

The project will provide a sustainable drinking water in accordance with the highest international standards from the Charvak mountain reservoir to the residents of the new city of Tashkent, through a sophisticated water treatment plant equipped with the latest advanced technologies. The project includes the construction of a 65 -kilometer water transport pipeline, with a capacity of more than 500 thousand cubic meters per day, during which it produces about 20 megawatts of hydroelectric energy, to ensure reliable supply of clean water, and enhance the continuous development of the new city of Tashkent, in a way that meets its current and future increasing water needs.

Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi said that this strategic partnership with the new Tashkent City Development Authority represents a new era of innovative water security, in line with the UAE’s ambitions in strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors.

He added that the agreement comes based on the success we achieved last year to lead the development of the largest sewage treatment plant in Tashkent, while taking care to move forward to provide comprehensive assessments and estimates for this new project, which will set new criteria for managing sustainable resources that contribute to ensuring the prosperity and welfare of the new community of Tashkent in the long term.

For his part, Maqsoud Abbaskhanov said that the signing of this agreement with energy for water solutions brings with it many years of experiences that it gained in Abu Dhabi to implement the project within this important agreement, as this project will enable the provision of new residents of Tashkent with reliable and sustainable operations that adopt the latest technologies adopted by energy for water solutions in the United Arab Emirates, in line with its distinguished reputation and engineers.

He added: “We are looking forward to what this agreement will achieve, which we have reached thanks to our fruitful cooperation over the past few months, and we trust the solid foundations we will accomplish together to develop this pioneering project.”

The value of the project is estimated at two billion dirhams, and it represents an investment towards achieving a bright future and rapid growth of the new city of Tashkent, while the project paves the way, by securing the water supplies for the city in the long term, the road map for economic growth and improving the quality of life for society in Tashkent.

The project also contributes to strengthening the growing bilateral relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan, which reflects the joint commitment to sustainable development and economic progress.
