After the Kingdom’s conversations, Trump speaks to Putin and welcomes the meeting of Zelinski
US President Donald Trump announced that he would likely speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week, after Ukraine supported an American cease -fire proposal and talks with Russia to end the war.
Trump indicated on Tuesday that Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski would be welcome at the White House, despite a sharp argument between them on February 28.
Full ceasefire
In response to a question asked by a journalist if he would talk to Putin this week, Trump said: “I think so, yes.”
And whether he would receive Zelinski again at the White House, he replied, “he definitely answered.”
On the risk of a full ceasefire in Ukraine, Trump said: “I hope this will happen during the next few days.”
“I know that we have a big meeting with Russia tomorrow,” he added, expressing his hope that the talks will be fruitful.
Successful talks in the Kingdom
Trump’s comments came after US and Ukrainian officials concluded lengthy talks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which Washington agreed to resume the exchange of intelligence information with Kiev, during which Ukraine supported an American proposal for a 30 -day ceasefire.
British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer praised the remarkable progress in the peace talks in Ukraine, which took place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
