The UAE national team is preparing for the Iran match with a new squad in the World Cup qualifiers

Today, Tuesday, the national football team continued its training at Jebel Ali Stadium in Dubai as part of its preparations to meet its Iranian counterpart next Thursday in the capital, Tehran, in the seventh round of the first group in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, knowing that Al -Abyad will leave for Tehran, Wednesday.
The technical staff, led by Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto, focused during the exercises on the plan and style of play in addition to the technical and tactical aspects and the readers ’readiness in preparation for choosing the starting lineup that will play the match according to the physical and technical readiness of each player.
The training witnessed the regularity of the full 27 players chosen in the new list.
Pinto is expected to make changes in the starting lineup that he will play in the Iran match, especially in terms of defense and attack, as it is expected to appear within the starting lineup for the first time with Al -Abyad, Al -Wahda defender Lucas Pimanta, and the Sharjah players Luan Pereira and Kayo Lucas, compared to the distinguished technical level that the trio presented with their teams in the ADNOC Professional League.
The players performed the exercises in a positive atmosphere, great enthusiasm, and highly and seriously, based on their sensitivity to the great responsibility of the necessity of achieving a positive result.
The training also witnessed special exercises for the national goalkeepers with the aim of standing on the readiness of the guards.
The team is third with 10 points behind the leaders of Iran, with 16 points, and Uzbekistan, second -placed with 13 points.
The match will be held at eight o’clock in the evening Emirates time, at Azadi Stadium.
