Yemen – the United Nations shows concern about the Houthi threats to ships in the Red Sea

In a statement he sent to reporters, the spokesman said that the United Nations Secretary -General calls for full freedom to navigate the Red Sea.
The spokesman reiterated the expression of the United States’ launching several strikes on the Houthi -controlled areas in Yemen in recent days.
According to the Houthis, it was reported that the aerial bombardment killed 53 people and wounded 101 wounding in the city of Sanaa, Saada and Al -Bayda governorates – including reports of civilian casualties – and disrupted electricity supplies in nearby locations.
The United Nations calls for the maximum levels of restraint and stop all military actions. The spokesman said that any other additional escalation may exacerbate regional tensions and nourish the revenge circle, which may increase the stability of Yemen and the region and leave severe risks to the difficult humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The United Nations stressed the need to respect international law – including international humanitarian law – from all parties at all times. She also stressed the need for full respect Security Council Resolution No. 2768 Concerning Houthi attacks against transportation ships and commercial ships.
