Dubai, March 19/ WAM/ The Ministry of Health and Community Protection, through its representative offices, organized Ramadan councils to introduce the national program for donation and transplantation of organs and human tissues “Hayat” in the Emirates of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, in order to enhance the awareness of community members of the importance of organ donation in giving patients in the hope of recovery and life “
The organization of councils comes within the Ministry’s initiatives aimed at stimulating societal participation in national efforts to improve the quality of life and support the health and safety of society in order to embody the goals of the vision of “We Emirates 2031 towards consolidating an integrated health care system according to the highest international standards, and raising the level of societal culture on donation and organ transplantation.
His Excellency Dr. Amin Al -Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Organization Sector, Dr. Ali Al -Obaidli, Chairman of the National Committee for donation and the cultivation of organs and human tissues, and directors of the representative offices of the ministry, and a number of officials in local governments, were attended by a remarkable presence of members of society.
The activities witnessed extensive discussions between officials and members of society on the vital role of the national program for donation and the transplantation of organs and human tissues “Hayat”, which targets the Ministry of Health and Community Protection to encourage the culture of organ donation during life or after death, and focus on innovative solutions to improve the success rates of agriculture and enhance their results among recipients, in addition to educating attendance at the mechanisms of registration in the program, conditions and legislative controls And organizational.
Dr. Amin Al -Amiri said that the contract of these Ramadan councils comes within the sustainable efforts made by the Ministry in enhancing the awareness of members of society of the role of organizing members in changing the lives of others for the better, as it corresponds to the aspirations of the “General Society” in spreading the values of interconnection and human solidarity and enhancing cohesion between individuals and consistent with the values of the month of goodness. Pointing out that the national program to donate organs and human tissues “Hayat” is an essential pillar in the march of health excellence of the UAE, and emphasizes the pioneering achievements achieved by the state in the field of health care, which is witnessing a positive shift at all levels.
He stated that the number of registered to donate the “Hayat” program has risen to 32,704 individuals registered for donation, and the number of donors in the Emirates reached 331, while the number of members cultivated in the country reached 1216 members, and the total number of patients who had organ transplants inside the state increased to 1167 people by 2024, in the framework of qualitative achievements in the field of donation, transportation and transplantation of organs And tissues.
Al -Amiri pointed out that the Cabinet’s adoption of the executive regulations for donation and the cultivation of organs and human tissues in the country reflects the leading government trends in enhancing the health of community members and providing advanced therapeutic solutions that meet the needs of patients in accordance with the highest regulatory standards, stressing the UAE continuing to consolidate its integrated and sustainable health system, in line with the wise leadership vision in developing policies and legislation that contributes to upgrading the quality of life.
Dr. Ali Al -Obaidli explained that the “Hayat” program is the fastest growing in the world in the field of organ donation, thanks to the integrated campaigns to enhance societal awareness of the values and goals of the program, and to benefit from periodic meetings with all groups of community members in all emirates of the state to highlight the program’s advantages and share live testimonies for patients who have regained hope in life after the success of the agriculture process, which raises the number of registered people in the program, in light of the development that The state’s health infrastructure is witnessed.
Mohamed Abdullah Al -Zarouni, director of the representative office of the Ministry in Sharjah, said that the national program for donation and the cultivation of organs and human tissues “Hayat” represents one of the noble humanitarian initiatives adopted by the ministry, pointing to the positive interaction between members of society with the program.
Hamad Tarim Al Shamsi, Director of the Ministry’s representative office in Ajman, pointed out that the office is working to support the “Hayat” program by spreading awareness and strengthening partnerships with various groups of society, pointing to the concern for partnerships in the field of organ donation to sustain the support of the pioneering program to save patients with organic palaces.
Ali bin Jerash Al -Ghafli, director of the representative office of the Ministry in Umm Al Quwain, pointed out that the “Hayat” program is a humanitarian and national initiative that contributes to enhancing the culture of organ donation and saving lives, and reflects the state’s commitment to developing an integrated health sector, and raising the level of societal awareness about the importance of donating as a noble message.
Mohamed Abdullah Al -Shehhi, director of the representative office of the Ministry in Ras Al -Khaimah, said that the office team organized a series of promotional and awareness campaigns targeting government and private agencies to achieve advanced positions in the number of registered people in the “Hayat” program.
