UNIFIL soldier was injured in a landmine explosion in southern Lebanon

The wounded soldier was immediately transferred to a UNIFIL facility near the scene of the accident, where he received the first treatment, and then he was transferred to a hospital in Beirut.

During a press conference in New York, the deputy of the United Nations spokesman, Farhan Haq, reported that the condition of the soldier is stable and his injuries is not threatening his life, but he said: “This horrific incident highlights the risks of unexploded munitions in southern Lebanon, and UNIFIL has increased its ability to remove mines, and this will continue in the coming months.”
