“Dubai Roads” opens a bridge with a capacity of 3 tracks

Today, the Roads and Transport Authority opened a major bridge that serves the traffic movement coming from the Infiniti Bridge via Al -Mina Street towards the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street, with a length of 1210 meters, and with a capacity of three tracks and capacity estimated at 4,800 vehicles per hour, as part of the fourth stage of the Al -Shindha Axis Development project, whose work range on Sheikh Rashid Street from its intersection with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street Falcon intersection on Al -Mina Street, with a length of 4.8 kilometers, and includes the implementation of five bridges with a total length of 3.1 km, and its capacity is estimated at about 19,400 vehicles per hour for all tracks, developing roads with a length of 4.8 km, in addition to developing surface intersections on Jumeirah Street, Al -Mina Street, Sheikh Sabah Al -Ahmad Al -Jaber Al -Sabah Street, and the construction of two infantry bridges, the first on Sheikh Rashid Street, and the second on Al -Mina Street.

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Matar Al -Tayer, said: The project to develop the Shindagha axis comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (may God bless him), and the follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, to keep pace with the continuous development witnessed in the area along the axis, The needs of urban and population growth, indicating that the new bridge provides a flow in the traffic movement coming from the Infiniti Bridge through Al -Mina Street and then Sheikh Rashid Street to the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street, and serves the regions of Al -Hudhaba, Al -Rafaa, Jafliya, Al -Mukwan, Al -Harfa, and Dignity.

He added: The authority has completed 90% of the total work of the fourth stage of the project, as it will open in the second quarter of this year the other two bridges, the first, the first with a length of 780 meters, with a capacity of three tracks, and a capacity of about 4,800 vehicles per hour, and serves the traffic coming from Infiniti Bridge via Al -Mina Street heading to Al Wasl Street, and the second bridge, with a length of 985 meters, with a capacity Two tracks, and a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, and the bridge serves the traffic coming from Jumeirah Street to Al -Mina Street and the Al -Saqr intersection.

It should be noted that the authority opened last December a bridge with a length of 1335 meters and a capacity of three tracks, and a capacity of 4,800 vehicles per hour, and the bridge serves the traffic movement coming from the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street with Sheikh Rashid Street, towards Al -Mina Street and the Al -Saqr Street to the Infiniti Bridge, and its opening contributed to the provision of a flowing traffic movement from Sheikh Rashid Street towards the Infiniti Bridge. For the Deira region, as the authority opened at the beginning of this year, a bridge with a length of 605 meters, with a capacity of two tracks and a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, serving the traffic coming from the intersection of Al -Mina Street with Sheikh Rashid Street, in the direction to the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street.

Development of 15 intersections
The project to develop the Shindagha axis is one of the largest projects currently implemented by the authority, and it has been cut off in an advanced stage, and it extends along Sheikh Rashid Street, Al -Mina Street, Gulf Street and Cairo Street with a length of 13 km, and includes the development of 15 intersections with a length of 13 km, and due to its huge, it was divided into five stages, and the axis serves the Deira and Bardbi regions, in addition to a number of development projects such as: Dubai Islands, the Monastery of the Maritime Faculty, the Dubai Al -Mallahi City, and the Rashid Port, and the number of residents served by the project is estimated at one million people, and the development of the axis contributes to providing free traffic movements along the Shindha axis, raising the capacity, road efficiency, reducing the trip time from 104 minutes to 16 minutes by 2030 AD, raising the level of traffic safety, and the value of the provision is estimated to reduce the flight time in 45 billion dirhams over 20 years.
