The Egyptian football team offers one position in the FIFA rankings (FIFA) issued today, Thursday, 3 April, to rank 32 globally, after it was in 33th place during the previous ranking.

This progress comes after a series of positive results achieved by the “Pharaohs” within the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where the national team played two games last March, during which he succeeded in achieving the full mark.

In the first match, which was held on March 21 at Al-Arabi Al-Zouli Stadium in Morocco, the Egyptian team overcame its Ethiopian counterpart 2-0, the two goals were scored by Mohamed Salah and Ahmed Sayed Zizou.

In the second meeting, which was held at the Cairo International Stadium on March 25, the team continued its superiority and achieved a valuable victory over Sierra Leone with a goal without a response, scored by Zizou at the end of the first half.

With these results, Egypt strengthened its lead in the first group in the qualifiers with 16 points from 6 games, away from its closest attachments, Burkina Faso, with a difference of 5 points, which enhances its chances of reaching the World Cup finals.

According to the new “FIFA” classification, Egypt is currently in the third place in Africa, behind Morocco and Senegal.

The “Pharaohs” awaits four fateful confrontations in the qualifiers, in which the team seeks to resolve early qualification to the 2026 World Cup, and to continue progressing in the world rankings.
