Germany announced its intention to buy explosive drones for the first time, at a time when Berlin is strengthening its investments in its armed forces to counter the Russian threat.
The government signed two contracts to buy the so -called “suicide bombs,” according to a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Metco Muller at a periodic press conference.

These drones can hover over the battlefield until the target is determined, and they are equipped with explosive charges and explode when they approach or collide with them.
Muller stressed that Germany “is making great efforts” to develop its capabilities in the field of drones.

He said that the ministry asked enough aircraft driving to hand them directly to the soldiers to test them, without calling the sale.
After initial tests, the army will make decisions regarding the deployment of drones on a larger scale, which can be directed with the help of artificial intelligence.
