The open swimming and water ball competitions will start today within the Dubai International Water Games Championship 2025, which will be held from March 21 to April 21, 2025, with the participation of more than 3000 players who compete in five water sports over a full month.
The Hamdan Sports Complex hosts water ball competitions, while open swimming is held on Jumeirah Beach for two days, and the championship is held with a joint organization between the Dubai Sports Council, the Emirates Swimming Federation, the Hamdan Sports Complex, and in partnership with the Apix Sports Academy for Events Management, as well as cooperation with several special sporting academies. The open swimming competitions witness the participation of 250 swimmers of different age groups, representing 15 clubs and academies from inside and outside the country, along with government agencies, reflecting the great diversity in the championship, as swimmers of more than 30 nationalities participate between the ages of 7 and 61, and the tournament will be held in cooperation with the Dubai International Water Sports Club and the Hummer Academy.
The organizing committee announced a group of accompanying community and sports events, with the aim of supporting and developing talent in open water sports, and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global destination to host the most prominent sporting events.
In the Hamdan Sports Complex, the water ball competitions are held with the participation of a number of teams, and in cooperation with the Camel Water Academy. The tournament started last week with diving competitions, which witnessed the participation of 155 local and international teams, amid Russian control over various competitions.
