The Egyptian Zamalek announces the departure of “Zizou” from its ranks … and its referral for the investigation

The Egyptian club Zamalek announced in a statement via its accounts on social media platforms, Thursday, the departure of its player Ahmed Sayed “Zizou” from its ranks and referring to the investigation.

It was decided that the “Zizou” trip with the “White Knight” team will end at the end of the current season 2025/2024.

The Zamalek Club said in its statement: “Based on the established constants that the Zamalek Club Board of Directors, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, deals with all the thorny files, which it faces since he took responsibility before the end of 2023, and in commitment to the transparency that the club administration deals with its loyal fans, and so that the silence period does not last in the way of futility that envelops the football scene in general, the club clarifies some facts.”

He added: “The Zamalek administration dealt with the file of renewing the contract with the player Ahmed Mustafa Mohamed Sayed, famously known as (Zizou), and I was keen to renew according to the club’s policy and the sums of money that maintains the stability of the football team, and an actual application of the principle of fair financial play, and not ranting it and raising it as a slogan without working with it.”

The club continued: “The Zamalek administration is not responsible for the decision of the other parties, despite the agreement on more than one date for the negotiation session without completing it, due to false arguments that confirm the absence of a real desire or intention from the player and his father to reach a final agreement, and for this we announce that the player will not be within the team after the end of his contract after the relationship between him and the club reached a dead end.”

And he added: “It was decided to transform the player Ahmed Mustafa Mohamed Sayed for investigation, given the club’s abusive media statements, which carried false information in a different way to the truth and not express the great features that the club granted to the player since his contract in 2019.”

The “White Knight” team continued: “The Zamalek administration declares that any player, whatever his name and its importance in the team, will not have a place with the club in the event that he officially negotiates with another club and agreed with him, and this decision does not retract him, no matter how much it costs, because Zamalek enriched his players and history attests to that.”

The club explained: “With regard to renewing the contracts of the rest of the team and supporting the new season, Zamalek has a specific policy that he deals with in a framework that guarantees the club’s interest and appreciation of the players together, and soon this file will be closed, and the results will be announced in full transparency.”

He concluded: “It is wrong for those who fancy that the silence of the Zamalek administration in the previous days will make it back down from its adherence to the application of the penalties for the last summit match without change, and the silence came out of not entering into polemics and methods far from sports integrity, and we confirm Zamalek’s ability to deal with the current position, in order to preserve the prestige and status of the Zamalek club.”

Earlier, Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”, through his account on Instagram, said that he had not renewed his contract with Zamalek Club, explaining at the same time that he had not signed another club.

“Zizou” expressed his dissatisfaction because the media did not talk about “his dues that he did not obtain” and “the team’s unwillingness to renew its contract,” stressing his desire to stay despite receiving a great financial offer in order to leave and join one of the clubs.
