The activities of the 11th edition of the Al -Wafa Festival in Ras Al Khaimah will start
Ras Al -Khaimah, April 12 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the activities of the 11th edition of the Al -Wafa Festival organized by the Shamal Association for Arts and Folklore and theater this year were launched under the slogan “Ras Al Khaimah Al -Future”.
The opening ceremony was witnessed by Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Maid bin Jamal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Zayed bin Jamal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a number of members of the Federal National Council, senior officials and personalities, Abdullah Ibrahim Muhammad Al -Saraoumi, Chairman of the Chads of the School of Arts and Folklore, theater, members of the association’s board of directors and tribal sons.
The ceremony started with the national peace of the UAE, followed by verses from the wise dhikr.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi praised the attention that His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi attains and the follow -up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah for the activities and heritage events that take place in the emirate, which aims to preserve the popular heritage and instill in the hearts of young generations.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi appreciated the efforts made by the Board of Directors of the Shamal Association for Arts and Folklore and theater to hold the festival and the role it plays in reviving the heritage and folklore of the state and preserving it from extinction, which reflects the successful vision of the role of associations in preserving the popular heritage from extinction and delivering it to the minds of the youth of the homeland in order to draw from it, expressing his admiration for the various festival activities.
Abdullah Ibrahim Al -Saraoumi stressed that this session of the festival carries in its possession many various heritage events from the folk heritage of the United Arab Emirates, pointing out that the heritage in the Emirates has received great support and sponsorship from the leadership of the wise state that provided all the capabilities to preserve the past of parents and grandparents.
Al -Saraoumi thanked His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, for his interest in heritage and instilling the national identity in Ras Al Khaimah.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the elders, and officials made an inspection tour of the festival’s heritage activities, various wings, Saqr village for heritage, folklore corner, drawing corner and games.
The opening ceremony of the Ras Al Khaimah Police Music and the War band participated in the opening ceremony, and a number of poets presented national heritage poems, while the festival program included a carnival march.
