Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed adopts the launch of the “Health, Medicine and Fitness Complex for a sustainable life”

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, approved the launch of the “Health, Medicine and Fitness Complex for a sustainable life” (Helm), which is led by efforts to create both the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, with the aim of upgrading the health care and life science system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to consolidate its position As a world leader in supporting medical innovation projects, pharmaceutical industries and biotechnology.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that investing in strengthening the medical innovation system will remain a national priority that has the support and attention of rational leadership by encouraging various projects aimed at upgrading the health care sector by continuing to adopt the latest biotechnology technology supported by artificial intelligence to find innovative solutions that contribute to improving the quality of the lives of community members.
The complex, which was announced on the sidelines of the activities of the “Abu Dhabi International Health Week”, will be an integrated platform for supporting research, development, manufacturing and marketing in the fields of biotechnology, advanced pharmaceutical industries, medical technologies, and digital health solutions.
The complex will contribute to accelerating the pace of innovation and production of advanced treatments, including personal medicine, by enhancing the manufacture of innovative drugs, building a global level level for digital health and artificial intelligence, enhancing innovation by attracting leading international companies in developing advanced medical technologies, genome sciences, to open new horizons that contribute to improving preventive care services, increasing the effectiveness of medicines, promoting quality life.

The opening of a regional center for vaccine distribution
On the other hand, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the opening of a regional center for the distribution of vaccines in the emirate, on the sidelines of the activities of “Abu Dhabi International Health Week” 2025, which is organized by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, under the slogan “Towards a long life … a new concept of health and wellness”, until April 17 in the “ADNEC” center.
This ambitious move embodies the efforts made to consolidate the leading position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi at the level of the global health sector; Where the new center benefits from the site of the emirate, which is characterized by its geographical proximity to various global markets, which will contribute to improving the efficiency of vaccine distribution in regional markets and supporting global supply chains in this vital sector.
The opening of the center comes the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the organizational authority for the health care sector at the emirate level, and the company “Glaxo Smith Klein” specialized in the field of developing and manufacturing biomedics, during the activities of “Abu Dhabi International Health Week” 2024, with the aim of enhancing the emirate’s position as a leading destination for logistical services and innovation in the health care sector, as well The way for developing health services and supporting ways to prevent diseases at the level of the emirate and the region in general.
