"UNIDO" It emphasizes the role of artificial intelligence in developing sustainable health systems by 2035

ABU DHABI, April 17/ WAM/ Seong Zo, Deputy General Manager and Managing Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), said that the organization’s vision of 2035 includes health systems that combine treatment and prevention of artificial intelligence, data analysis, and genome -based personal treatment plans and immediate information.
He pointed out, during his participation in a dialogue session entitled “Population Health Innovations, the next stage of care”, held within the work of “Abu Dhabi International Health Week 2025”, pointed out the importance of developing prediction models for diseases, as well as creating a strong health infrastructure that relies on remote medicine and electronic health records secured by blockchain techniques.
He stressed that future hospitals will focus on sustainability, by relying on renewable energy sources and energy -saving designs that adopt “zero waste” policies,
It will include advanced technologies such as robotic surgery and smart family, as well as adopting low -carbon health care solutions, including remote medicine and delivery of drugs for remote areas, the use of digital prescriptions and environmentally friendly medical materials.
Seong Zo explained that the social dimension is an essential element in the future of health care, noting that partnerships between the public and private sectors will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive health coverage and affordable cost care.
He pointed out that these efforts will be implemented through supported digital tools, as well as field interventions such as mobile clinics, and enabling community health workers to use portable diagnostic devices, with the aim of reducing the gap in health services between rural and urban areas.
On climatic changes as a passing issue for the sectors, he explained that the solution lies in international cooperation and enhancing coordination between governments, noting that the health sector contributes about 5% of carbon dioxide emissions, which requires integration within the national plans directed to reduce emissions and achieve environmental sustainability.
Seong Zo added that there is a need to adopt energy efficiency, renewable energy, and a circular economy in hospitals, while taking advantage of digital tools and artificial intelligence.
