المملكة: Tabuk .. more than 90,000 citrus trees during April

Tabuk farms in April 2025 AD witness the flowers of more than 90 thousand trees of citrus trees, on an area of ​​more than 8000 dunums, which include multiple varieties of oranges, lemon, mandarin, kakkat, and other citrus fruits that the region is famous for.
The Tabuk region is one of the most prominent agricultural areas in the Kingdom, because it embraces it from advanced infrastructure and integrated government support, as it includes more than 14,500 farms distributed over an area of ​​more than 270 thousand hectares, which contributed to the diversity of crops and the emergence of innovative agricultural experiences that helped achieve environmental and economic sustainability, as well as meet the needs of the local market.

Citrus transplantation

The Director General of the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Tabuk region, Amjad bin Abdullah Thalab, explained that the region has large agricultural ingredients, which contributed to the sector’s growth and development, noting that the cultivation of citrus fruits has become one of the leading experiences in Tabuk, due to its economy and efficiency in water consumption, as farms depend on modern drip irrigation systems.
He pointed out that the cultivation and care of citrus fruits begins at the beginning of each Gregorian year, and the harvest season begins from November to late December, with productivity covering the needs of the local market, and we encourage the expansion in this field to reach self -sufficiency.

The development of agriculture

He pointed out that the Ministry supports farmers through agricultural financing programs, providing modern equipment and training in best agricultural practices, as well as providing soft loans, pumps and agricultural machines, which contributed to improving production and development of agriculture in the various cities and governorates of the region.
He noted that a number of farms won the Prince Fahd bin Sultan Award for Model Farm, which in turn contributed to raising the efficiency of the agricultural sector and motivating farmers towards excellence and sustainable production.
The agricultural growth in Tabuk reflects the growing role of the agricultural sector within the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, by enhancing food security and achieving a balanced and sustainable economic development in various regions of the Kingdom.
