المملكة: Saudi Vision 2030 is the greatest success story in the 21st century

After announcing the annual report of the Saudi Vision 2030, a number of experts and economists agreed that the numbers and indicators carried by the report narrate one of the greatest stories of success in the twenty -first century, confirming the saying made by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman – may God protect him – about two years ago.
Experts emphasized that every year in which the country goes on more success and glow thanks to the insightful vision of the “godfather of vision”, noting that the report revealed qualitative leaps achieved by the Kingdom in various sectors, with the achievement or exceeding 33 indicators of the 2024 and 2030 targets, in an unprecedented development scene.
These achievements included a decrease in the unemployment rate to 7%, the reception of more than 116 million tourists, and the transfer of 571 regional headquarters to global companies to the Kingdom, which contributed to fundamental transformations that affected various aspects of the life of the Saudi citizen.

Quality leaps

The economist, Dr. Abdullah Sadiq Dahlan, indicated that the dazzling numbers in the annual report reflecting qualitative leaps for the Kingdom in the hands of its children, and leading its godfather, towards sustainable development and comprehensive prosperity.

He explained that the vision caused a deep social transformation, especially in empowering women and enhancing their role, as the percentage of women’s participation in the labor market increased to unprecedented levels, and the number of volunteers in the Kingdom exceeded 1.23 million volunteers, exceeding the target of the vision.
He added that the high percentage of Saudi housing families to 65.4% reflects the state’s seriousness in achieving family stability and improving the quality of life, and it is one of the main axes of the 2030 vision.

Historical achievements

For his part, economic advisor Yahya Hamza Al -Wazanah said that the achievements of the report charted the features of a prosperous Saudi future, stressing that the Saudi economy is witnessing a radical transformation thanks to the vision, as the gross domestic product grew by 1.3% to reach more than 3.5 trillion riyals in 2024, compared to 2.6 trillion riyals in 2016.

He pointed out that the non -oil domestic product reached 1.8 trillion riyals, composing 51% of the GDP for the first time in the history of the Kingdom, with the support of vital sectors such as trade, tourism and logistical services.
He stressed that the transfer of 571 regional headquarters to foreign companies to Saudi Arabia reflects the growing global confidence in the Kingdom’s business environment.

Economist Amr Khashoggi stressed that the vision leads the Kingdom to new prospects of growth and prosperity, noting that the Kingdom’s polarization of 571 regional headquarters for foreign companies by the end of 2024 exceeded the previously set.

He added that the growth of gross domestic product contributes to improving citizen income, providing job opportunities and increasing spending on vital sectors such as health and education, which enhances the quality of life index in Saudi Arabia.
He also pointed out that the vision caused a positive impact on society, as the average life expectancy increased, health insurance coverage has expanded, and the entertainment sector has developed significantly, as well as unprecedented support to empower women and increase their presence in the labor market and leadership positions.

Tourist boom

As for the economic and legal advisor Hani Muhammad Al -Jafri, he explained that the tourism sector witnessed a qualitative leap thanks to the Vision 2030, as the Kingdom received 116 million tourists in 2024, with the development of new tourist destinations and facilitating visa procedures, which made Saudi Arabia an attractive global destination.

He pointed out that 93% of the indicators of the vision programs and strategies achieved or approached the achievement of its targets by the end of 2024, while 85% of the initiatives run in the right direction, which reflects the success of planning and implementation.
He stressed that the vision succeeded in reducing the unemployment rate to 7%, and contributed to improving government performance, as the Kingdom jumped to sixth in the world in the digital government index, providing an ideal environment for the growth of smart and emerging companies.
