"Emirates Entrepreneurship" It reviews plans to enhance the business environment and support small projects in the country

Abu Dhabi, April 27/ WAM/ The Emirates Business Entrepreneurship Council held its second meeting, headed by His Excellency Alia Bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, in the presence of members of the Council of representatives of the federal and local government agencies and economic development departments and councils and funds for supporting entrepreneurship in the country, within the framework of efforts to enhance the entrepreneurial environment and develop its capabilities, in line with the targets of the vision of “We are 2031”.
The Council reviewed the recommendations issued by the first meeting and following up their implementation, most notably the review of Federal Law No. (2) of 2014 on small and medium enterprises and facilities, and working to develop a unified database for entrepreneurs, and coordination between local authorities to unify efforts supporting the entrepreneurial system.
Al Mazrouei stressed that the council continues to work to develop effective frameworks and future plans to support and empower entrepreneurs, through integration between the concerned authorities, the development of national programs and initiatives aimed at consolidating the competitiveness of the entrepreneurial environment, expanding the base of entrepreneurial projects in the country, with the aim of enhancing the readiness of entrepreneurs for the future, stimulating the growth of startups, and opening new horizons for partnerships and investments, in a way that contributes to achieving the state’s vision Calling for the construction of a knowledge competitive economy based on innovation and entrepreneurship, and increasing the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the gross domestic product of the national economy.
The meeting agenda included discussing the support strategies of entrepreneurs, enabling them to grow and expand locally and globally, in addition to discussing coordination mechanisms between the relevant authorities to develop an integrated system of entrepreneurship and activating partnerships with the government and private sectors.
The meeting also reviewed the strategy of the Youth Council for Entrepreneurship, aimed at enabling the youth category to lead innovative projects that contribute to the consolidation of the state leadership in this vital sector.
The mechanisms for supporting external participation and entrepreneurial delegations were discussed, while discussing the proposed posts for the year 2025, and coordination between the members of the Council to ensure effective representation of the state in international bodies related to entrepreneurship.
The meeting discussed the preparations for the National Forum for Government Procurement, which aims to enhance the benefit of Emirati entrepreneurs from government tenders, by providing an opportunity for federal authorities to display the expected contracts for the current year, enable small and medium enterprises to prepare for them, and create a direct platform to communicate with the donors for contracts to address common challenges, in addition to seeing the latest developments in the purchasing system, And exchange experiences with the financing authorities on the development of this sector.
The attendees discussed the achievements of the “national agenda for entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises”, which aim to enhance the state’s position as a destination for the leadership and practice of global business, and stimulate the business and small and medium enterprises sector to innovate and increase productivity, as the discussion focused on the axes of the 7 agenda, which is the ease of doing business, innovation, business support, digital transformation, obtaining financing, and capital Human, increased demand.
