Specialized in child literature: imagination is a moving power that develops children’s capabilities and enriches their narrative world

Sharjah, April 29 / WAM / A book and academics specializing in child literature emphasized that imagination constitutes a pivotal magic force in the world of childhood, as it contributes to building fictional characters capable of facing challenges, and encourages children to believe in their capabilities and make sacrifices to achieve their dreams.

Speakers stressed during a dialogue session entitled “Farts of Fantasy”, hosted by the Culture Forum within the sessions of the 16th session of the Sharjah Reading Festival for the Child held at the Sharjah Expo Center, the importance of merging realistic elements with fictional elements to enrich the stories and motivate the imagination of young readers.

The Emirati writer, painter, and Emirati coach, Maitha Al -Khayyat, and the Emirati writer specializing in the child’s literature, Al -Muhairi, and Dr. Fatima Al -Zahraa Bin Orab, the Algerian writer and academy interested in child literature, and the American writer of Indian writer who is interested in Indian myths and tales of a thousand and one nights.

In another session entitled “The splendor of rhymes in children’s books”, specialists in the literature of the child stressed that the musical rhythm of the language and rhyme is not a luxury, but rather a vital bridge that connects the feeling and the text, and the interaction of the small reader is enhanced.

The speakers emphasized that the choice of words with a musical bell, in addition to harmonious drawings with rhythmic texts, contributes to creating an integrated aesthetic experience that enriches the understanding of children and increases their enjoyment of reading.

As for the dialogue session, “educational systems and the development of student creativity”, experts in the fields of education have confirmed that creativity is no longer a luxury, but rather a basic right that the educational systems must be guaranteed to each child.

The experts pointed out that the traditional methods based on memorization and indoctrination hinder the development of the creative capabilities of students, which requires rebuilding the educational system in line with the requirements of the future, especially in light of the radical transformations imposed by artificial intelligence.

The session was attended by: Dima Al -Alami, the educational advisor and the author of children’s books, and the Emirati writer specializing in family and child issues, Maryam Al -Sharaf, and Sahrish Farouk, an expert on education and awareness programs.

The International “Airovot Worms” group added a unique touch to the activities of the Sharjah Reading Festival for Children 2025, as it made a presentation of vitality and creativity, which redefined the limits of performance art in which it mixed between air and exquisite acrobatics, which surprised the children and gave a brilliant atmosphere to the festival.
