"Abu Dhabi Book" Intellectual property supports cultural creativity

Abu Dhabi, May 5/ WAM/ The 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair provides platform, to highlight the vital role of intellectual property rights and copying in protecting creativity and stimulating cultural production.
Majd Al -Shehhi, Director of the Emirates Copy Rights Association, stressed that the association’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair comes a translation of the association’s vision in promoting a culture of respecting the rights of authors and creators, and spreading awareness of the importance of preserving copying rights in society.
She said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the exhibition is an ideal platform for communication with the public, especially publishers, authors, creators and professionals who work in the publishing sector and libraries, to highlight the importance of intellectual property rights in supporting artistic and cultural creativity.
She emphasized that this exhibition embodies the spirit of innovation and creativity in the UAE, and the association was keen to participate in it based on its commitment to consolidating the culture of respecting intellectual property rights and copies and supporting creators and authors who enrich the cultural scene with their work.
She added that the association provided many specialized workshops and awareness materials, in addition to open meetings to introduce visitors to their rights and duties in both the digital and traditional publishing environment.
She pointed to the increasing interest from different groups of society in the rights of copying and creativity, through the positive interaction and the remarkable turnout witnessed by the association’s pavilion, which leads to continuing strongly in the association’s programs and awareness initiatives, and continuing efforts in building an awareness and cultural environment that supports creativity and preserves the authors of their rights.
She affirmed the keenness of the Emirates Copyrights Association to contribute to strengthening the cultural scene in the country and supporting national efforts to build creative generations that continue to march and excellence.
