“80 years in the service of humanity” is an international message through the Rabat International Book Fair

The occasion is the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, and explained to the United Nations news, Fathi Al -Dababi, Director of the United Nations Media Center in Rabat.
Al -Dababi said: “We participated in the exhibition with a historical perspective in the form of a large wall painting that displays a group of major events in the United Nations for 80 years.”.

The director of the United Nations Media Center in Rabat said that they have also shed light on Morocco’s participation since it obtained the membership of the United Nations, including its contribution to “Enhancing the role of the Arabic language, and adopting the Arabic language as a work language within the framework of the United Nations bodies”.
Among the stations that were also focused on Morocco’s contribution to the mechanisms of the work of the Human Rights Council and other participants, including in the areas of climate, migration, dialogue of civilizations, and confrontation of violent discourse and hate speech in general.
Al -Dababi pointed out that Morocco also had a major role in supporting peacekeeping operations within the framework of the United Nations, adding that Morocco is now considered the ninth country in terms of participation in the forces within the framework of the United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Al -Dababi emphasized that the pavilion, which bore the name “United Nations 80”, was an opportunity to bring all this information closer to the Moroccan public. “To realize the importance of the United Nations, and also the role that Morocco played in the framework of the United Nations. This had a very positive impact.”.
He pointed out that the exhibition was also an opportunity for all United Nations organizations to participate in organizing small dialogues within the framework of the United Nations wing in Morocco. He said that the dialogues focused on several topics, including health, refugees, immigration, climate change, education and artificial intelligence.
He stressed that the United Nations pavilion in Morocco witnessed a great turnout during the exhibition, and a number of officials, including the mayor of Rabat, visited it.
Fathi Al -Dababi stated that participation in the exhibition was a joint work for the United Nations Communication Team, which includes representatives of all United Nations bodies and agencies. He added that the participation was within “One frame for different sounds, each of these organizations or bodies is concerned with the focus of work according to its mandate.”.
