The markets of Al -Ahsa Governorate are witnessing these days a large and noticeable abundance in the product of berries of all kinds, especially the type of “strawberry berries”, which is characterized by its “sweet, sweet” taste, which is famous for its cultivation of fertile Al -Ahsa farms.
This abundant production comes amid a great demand from the families and residents, in addition to visitors from the Gulf countries, especially from the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait, where the prices of the small fund are currently ranging between eight and ten riyals only.

Love of agriculture in Al -Ahsa’s heritage

In this context, Ahmed Borshid, a fan of agriculture, explained that the love of agriculture is rooted in the basic heritage of Al -Ahsa, which is inherited from parents and grandparents.
He pointed out that he grew up in a village surrounded by farms that produce all varieties of fruits and vegetables that characterize the land of Al -Ahsa.
He added that the berries product has been grown on Al -Ahsa farms since ancient times, and has witnessed a great development with the entry of “strawberry berries”, which is originally returning to Egypt, where the Al -Ahsa land has proven its ability to grow it with great success.

Various types of berries

Porshid stated that the types of berries that are grown in Al -Ahsa are varied, including the “White Pakistani berries”, “strawberry berries” and “Kashmiri berries”, in addition to the local “Hasawi berries”.
He indicated that “strawberry berries” are characterized by its taste, which combines sweetness and acidity, which makes it desirable for adults for his tendency to taste “dates”, and the young people have a tendency to acidity. This type is also characterized by the size of its fruits and the intensity of its production, which makes it a good economic feasibility for farmers.
Porsche said that the season of berries production extends for two months, and the crop has started from the middle of last Ramadan “around mid 2025” and is still continuing until now.
He pointed out that the prices are good at the beginning of production, but they decrease with increased maturity and speed of production, sometimes reaching only five riyals for the fund.

Use berries in manufacturing industries

He emphasized that the berries tree is one of the easiest trees in agriculture, where it can be grown by cutting a small branch and then planted, with the need to take care of them and protect them from pests such as spiders and charcoal, and spray them against the fruit fly when the fruits are small and white, then stop spraying permanently after that.
Borshid called for benefiting from the berries product in the manufacturing industries, noting the importance of the role of families producing in this field, so that it is converted into jam and juices, especially by specialists in the juice industry.
He stressed that this berries find a great demand, as production is exported to the Gulf countries such as Kuwait and Qatar, in addition to the great demand from citizens inside the Kingdom.

A continuous turnout to buy berries

For his part, the farmer who is interested in the production of berries, Professor Abdul Mohsen Al -Ahmad, who is in the farmers market in Al -Mubarraz, stressed that it offers municipal berries on a daily basis, especially the type that is characterized by its luxurious love.
He pointed out that there is a great demand and demand for berries and abundant quantities, stressing that Al -Ahsa farms are distinguished in its cultivation, and that its prices are currently ranging between eight and ten riyals.
In turn, Abdulaziz Al -Roujeh, during his visit to one of the farms, expressed his admiration for the distinction he saw in the products, especially the berries, which he described and its great size, the pleasure of its taste as “abnormal”.
He pointed out that people’s desire for berries have increased a lot from the previous one, expressing his hope that a special berries will be organized in Al -Ahsa, due to the great abundance of the region’s farms.
