"Muslim sages" Participates in the G20 forum for interfaith dialogue

Addis Ababa, May 16 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elderly participated in the activities of the G20 Forum for Interfaith Dialogue, which was hosted by the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on May 13 and 14.

The participation of the Muslim Wise Council in the first plenary session of the forum, which was held under the title “The African Union at the G20 summit … the role of religious institutions in Africa to enhance the goals of the Group of Twenty in Africa”; Where Mohamed Bahr, director of strategic planning at the Council of Muslim Elders, stressed that the Council believes in the importance of the transformative role of religious institutions in Africa in enhancing international and continental priorities.

He pointed to the influence of reliable religious institutions on the treatment of poverty, inequality and conflict, in addition to the role played by religious leaders in Africa on issues such as food security, climate work, and immigration.

He reviewed the efforts of the Council of Muslim Elders to promote peace in Africa and spread the values ​​of dialogue, coexistence and peace, through many initiatives aimed at promoting religious diplomacy; Like peace convoys, the Peace Makers Forum, and the practical application of the principles of the historical human brother’s document.

In the third plenary session, “sustainable development in a turbulent world … Africa’s contributions, needs”, the participation of the Council of Muslim Elders focused on Africa’s contributions to sustainable development, by emphasizing the importance of the need for sustainable financing, alleviating debt burdens, and policies that enable women and youth.

He urged religious leaders to find fair solutions and cooperative responses to humanitarian challenges, and to benefit from the initiatives of the Muslim Wise Council to enhance the role of religious leaders in facing global challenges and enhance sustainable development.
