The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance – represented by the Religious Attaché in India, in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Religions in the Republic of Sri Lanka, has concluded, and under the supervision of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Collebo – the first root scientific session.
On May 14 and 15, 2025 AD, with the participation of approximately (1800) scholars and imams, heads of universities, associations and Islamic centers, and a number of officials in the Sri Lankan ministries and students of science.
During the session, he presented four specialized scientific lectures, given by the Director of the Ministry’s branch in the Riyadh region, Mohamed Al -Barra, and the Director of the General Administration of Digital Call, Mohamed Al -Shehri, during which they dealt with the most prominent contemporary legal and intellectual issues, ways to enhance religious awareness and spread the method of moderation and moderation, as it witnessed a remarkable presence and interaction.

Correct scientific course

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Sri Lanka Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani expressed his pride in this session, thanks to the wise leadership- may God support it- for the support and care it provides for the programs of advocacy and guidance, and the efforts of the blessed kingdom in spreading middle Islam and promoting peaceful coexistence between peoples.
He praised the fruitful cooperation shown by the Department of Muslim Affairs in the Ministry of Religions and Sri Lankan Cultures, and the facilities provided by it that had a great impact on organizing this session in an optimal way.

Quality initiatives

The participants expressed their deep appreciation to the Kingdom for its qualitative initiatives in the service of Islam and Muslims, appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in spreading the approach of the Sunnis and the community, and the consolidation of a moderate religious discourse that contributes to building coherent societies, and counts individuals from intellectual deviations, expressing their aspiration for the continuation of these programs in the future, because of its concrete impact in the reality of Islamic work in Sri Lanka.
It is noteworthy that this session comes within a series of advocacy and scientific programs implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in cooperation with the official Islamic bodies in a number of countries, in order to enhance the Kingdom’s leadership role in serving Islam and Muslims, and to consolidate the approach of moderation and moderation that it represents in international forums.
