Prison for 5 fans insulted Real Madrid player Vinicius .. “hate crime”

Five fans were convicted of one year in prison for suspended execution on charges of racist insults to the Brazilian striker for Real Madrid club Vinicius Junior in 2022, the Spanish League Football League announced Wednesday.
The five people who are fans of Real Valladolid and those accused of insulting the Brazilian international striker during a match in the Spanish League on December 30, 2022 must pay fines ranging between 1080 and 1620 euros, in addition to preventing them from entering the stadiums for three years.
The five defendants face the risk of imprisonment in the event of a repetition of the same charge in the next three years.
The “La Liga” association stated that this punishment is the first of its kind and the most severe in similar incidents in sports stadiums, as the Public Prosecution classified these actions as a “hate crime”, and kept as a strict factor “the intention of humiliation and undermining the player’s dignity with clear racist motives.”
“This is a historic punishment, as a result of the work of the Spanish League and our commitment to a ball free of violence and discrimination. We will remain steadfast in this battle,” said the president of the association, Javier Tebas, on the “X” platform.
The 24 -year -old Real Madrid wing was offended by the five fans at the Jose Syria in December 2022.
Vinicius was a victim of racist abuse several times in matches outside the Royal Club.
In June 2024, three Valencia fans were sentenced to eight months in prison for the racist abuse of the attacker in 2023, in an incident that caused global anger.
Vinicius announced on Monday’s video link against another case against Atletico Madrid fans accused of suspending a player on a bridge near the Real Madrid training stadium.
Despite the efforts of the relevant authorities, Spanish football has not yet succeeded in eliminating racism in its stadiums, in light of the continued recurrence of similar incidents.
Vinicius Junior, who has become a symbol of combating racism in the world of football, has become the most frequent goal of these incidents since his arrival in the Spanish capital in 2018, which led to the rulings of several local courts.
