The UAE wins the right to host the World Ice Hockey Cup

The UAE, represented by the Emirates Winter Sports Federation, won the 2026 World Ice Hockey World Cup.AAnd it is scheduled to be held next April.

The announcement of the UAE file won the hosting of the event during the annual general assembly meeting of the International Ice Healing Federation, which is hosted by the Swedish capital, Stockholm, during the period from May 22 to May 25, with the participation of 84 countries.

The UAE file was supported by the majority of the voices during the review of the files of the developed countries to host the tournament, due to the distinctive and modern facilities it included, and integrated logistical potential that contribute to the success of the global event.

Hamel Ahmed Al -Qubaisi, Vice President of the Emirates Winter Sports Federation, head of the delegation participating in the meetings of the International Ice Hekidon Federation, stressed that the victory of the state’s file by hosting the global event is crowned the support of the rational leadership, the interest of the Ministry of Sports, and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the follow -up of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, President of the Emirates Winter Sports Federation.

He added that the confidence that the UAE enjoyed in hosting this event came as a result of the concrete efforts of the Federation in supporting the participation of national teams in continental and international championships, organizing local competitions for men and women categories, developing national cadres, and including the best global experiences in the fields of training and development.

Al -Qubaisi praised the support of brotherly and friendly countries and their support for the Emirates file, which reflects the great confidence in its global leadership by hosting and organizing international sporting events with the finest international specifications, indicating at the same time that the union will work to adopt the necessary plans for the success of the tournament and enhance the position of the UAE International.
