The UAE participates in the International Investment Forum with a high -level delegation

Tashkent on June 12 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, headed the Special Envoy of His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the delegation of the United Arab Emirates participating in the works of the Fourth International Investment Forum, whose work was launched in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, and was opened by His Excellency President Shawkat Mir Diazif and with high -level participation that included a number of heads of state and heads of ministers Central Asian countries and Europe, and senior representatives of international institutions.

His Excellency during the session affirmed his country’s commitment to providing a fair and attractive investment environment, through fundamental legislative amendments, the launch of a national investment fund with approximately $ 2 billion, and the creation of motivational systems that guarantee equality between local and foreign investors.

He also stressed the importance of the transportation and logistics sector as a major engine for the national economy, pointing to the increasing growth in private investments in this field, and highlighted Samarkand airports, Namanjan and Bukhara as vital models of current development.

In its fourth edition, the forum aims to review the available investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, especially in the energy, agriculture, industry, tourism, and infrastructure sectors, as it witnessed his participation this year in its current version more than 7,500 participants representing 100 countries, and among them is approximately 3,000 guests of honor.

The forum also witnessed for the first time the organization of a national exhibition that highlights local industrial and investment capabilities with the participation of more than 90 Uzbek companies.

On the sidelines of the forum, His Excellency Shawkat Mirdayev received His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, the special envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Saeed Matar Al -Qamzi, the country’s ambassador to Tashkent.

His Excellency conveyed to his Excellency the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai “may God bless him”, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and head of the Presidential Court, and the wishes of the wise leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its friendly people with more progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, ways to enhance bilateral relations were discussed in a number of vital areas, foremost of which are renewable energy, infrastructure and logistical services, and to follow up the most important joint projects between the two countries, as the two sides emphasized the depth of economic ties between the two countries, and their common keenness to improve the level of cooperation to wider horizons.

His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei also held the “round table” meeting with His Excellency Jamsheed Kochokarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, with the participation of a number of officials and investors from both sides in the government and private sector, which is a major platform for enhancing economic cooperation and expanding the horizons of partnership between the two countries. Where during this meeting, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of new economy, technology, energy, agriculture, food security, infrastructure, and the financial and banking sector were reviewed.

His Excellency stressed in his opening speech that the UAE is one of the most prominent commercial partners of Uzbekistan, calling for strengthening investment partnerships and developing joint initiatives that support economic integration, through stimulating the investment environment, facilitating trade procedures, enacting legislation and strengthening communication channels between businessmen and investors, and partnership between the government and private sector.

His Excellency also highlighted promising investment opportunities in various priority sectors, such as: “Artificial Intelligence, Technology, Innovation, Renewable Energy, Tourism and Aviation, Agriculture and Food Security, Infrastructure, and the Financial and Banking Sector.”

At the end of the round table, the two sides witnessed the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and investment agreements, between governmental and private institutions from the Emirates and Uzbekistan, in a move confirming the commitment of the two sides to advance economic cooperation to advanced levels of partnership and sustainable development.

The participating country delegation included a number of authorities and senior officials in government and private agencies representing the following bodies: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Abu Dhabi Investment Agency, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Dubai World Ports, Etihad Electricity and Water Company, Masdar Company, Energy Water Solutions Company, Dubai Chamber Abu Dhabi I, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Serdal Holding, Metto, AIM, Global Foundation and Wizer Company.
