“Dubai Health” announces the establishment of the first protection cancer treatment center at the state level

The Dubai Health Authority granted initial approval to “Yas Health Care”, which is affiliated with the “Das Holding Group”, to establish the first specialized center for proton therapy at the level of the UAE, with the aim of providing specialized treatments for cancer patients in Dubai, in a qualitative step that reflects Dubai’s strategic directions in developing specialized health care, and consolidating its position as an ideal destination for specialized health care and medical tourism, and it is scheduled that the construction work will begin For the center in the first quarter of 2026, to be the actual operation of the center by the end of 2028.
Proton therapy is one of the most advanced radio therapy techniques in the world, as it allows the delivery of accurate doses of radiation to malignant tumors while reducing damage to healthy tissues, which makes it suitable for sensitive conditions, such as children’s tumors and other complex tumors. The new center will enable patients to obtain this type of treatment without the need to travel outside the country, which reduces the cost and reduces psychological burdens on patients and their families.

Dr. Alawi Al -Sheikh explained that the new center will contribute to providing advanced therapeutic services that focus on the patient, improve access to precise care, and support Dubai’s goals by being among the 10 best cities in the world in the average health age, as well as in line with the National Strategy for Life Quality 2031, Dubai Social Agency 33, and Dubai Economic Agency D33.
He said: «The project is being implemented in cooperation with the National Cancer Center in Singapore (NCCS), one of the most prominent medical centers specialized in the treatment of tumors in Asia, and the Singaporean Center will take over the role of the technical advisor to the project, including providing clinical and technical expertise and the application of international standards in the design and operation of the facility.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zaki, the medical director and general manager of “Yas Health Care”, said that the global data indicates the increasing cases of cancer, especially between the small age groups, as it indicates that protection therapy is a less toxic and more accurate treatment option in such cases, and stressed that the new center aims to reduce dependence on treatment abroad, and provide high -quality medical service in Dubai.
For his part, the head of the Radiation Oncology Department at the National Cancer Center in Singapore, Dr. Michael Wang, expressed his pride in participating in the project, stressing that cooperation with “Yas Health Care” represents an extension of the center’s role in leading global development in radiotherapy techniques, explaining that the center will be a qualitative step in reshaping the experience of cancer treatment in the Gulf region.
