Ras Al Khaimah Customs launches the first shipment of Berry transit with the Tir system "Tir" Towards Poland via an international network

Ras Al Khaimah, June 16 / WAM / The Customs Department of Ras Al Khaimah announced the launch of the first shipment of “transit” by using the international transport system TIR from the Customs of the Northern Free Zones in the emirate towards Poland, through several European and Asian countries through an international road network.
This achievement represents a strategic station within the efforts of Ras Al Khaimah Customs to activate the TIR system in cooperation with the UAE Customs and the International Land Transport Federation “IRU” in a way that enhances the effectiveness of the system in accelerating and facilitating cross -border trade movement, and supports the state’s directions towards enhancing logistical and commercial integration with regional and global markets.
His Excellency Dr. Rashid Rashid Al -Mahrazi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Customs, stressed that this achievement reflects the department’s commitment to support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah to facilitate the movement of international trade, noting that the activation of the Tir system constitutes a major pillar in enhancing the Emirates competitiveness on the global transit map and confirms the readiness of the state’s infrastructure and logistical in support of transit trade.
Al -Mahrazi explained that the Customs of Ras Al Khaimah is working to expand the scope of the application of the system in cooperation with local and international partners, so that the emirate will be a reliable and effective starting point linking the markets of the Middle East, Asia and Europe, especially through free zones and other border ports.
It is noteworthy that the TIR system is one of the most efficient and secure customs transit systems in the world, and allows the transportation of goods across several countries without the need for customs re -inspection in every country of transit, which shortens time and reduces costs and enhances world trade flow.
