Al Hamriyah Municipality is distributed "Wet"
Sharjah, June 17 / WAM / The Hamriyah Municipality organized for the third year in a row, its annual societal initiative, “Wet Business”, which aims to distribute wet from the palm of the city of Hamriyah to the residents of the region and its residents to celebrate the season and enhance the authentic Emirati heritage.
The initiative coincided with the start of the wet season, which is one of the most prominent agricultural seasons in the country, and it is preaching the arrival of the “wasting” with its cultural and social connotations, as the senior citizens invoke it as part of their heritage memory and their association with agricultural seasons that constitute an important part of the national identity.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriya Municipality, stressed that the initiative comes within the framework of the municipality’s keenness to enhance societal communication and consolidate the values related to the inherited Emirati heritage, customs and traditions.
Al -Shamsi explained that the success of the agricultural season for this year reflects the efforts of the municipal cadres in continuous care of palm trees and agricultural spaces in Hamriyah, stressing that the “wet mineral” initiative highlights the heritage and cultural importance of wet, and its role in supporting food security through the production of known local varieties at the region level.
