UAE .. qualitative achievements in the housing sector with a value of support exceeding 50 billion dirhams

Abu Dhabi, June 19 / WAM / The UAE continues thanks to the directives of its rational leadership, to achieve qualitative achievements in the Federal Housing Sector, in a way that enhances its leadership in the areas of urban development and social stability, and establishes its position among the best countries in the world in the quality of life.
The Council of Ministers had approved housing approvals for more than 1838 citizens during the first half of this year, with a total of 1.2 billion dirhams, within the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, bringing the total of what the program has provided from its foundation until the first half of 2025 more than 50 billion dirhams, from which more than 93 thousand citizens and citizens benefited, in a step that reflects the state’s commitment to enabling the Emirati family and providing adequate housing as one of the most important The ingredients for societal stability.
In recent years, the program has witnessed a series of strategic developments that contributed to enhancing the effectiveness of the housing system, accelerating the course of obtaining housing support, and raising the level of happiness of customers in addition to expanding partnerships with the banking sector and financing agencies, in the context of the state’s directions towards financial sustainability and innovation in providing services.
The program achieved qualitative leaps and improved performance during the period from 2021 to 2024 with prominent results in terms of performance indicators, as the time of obtaining the housing support decision was reduced by a rate of more than 50% and the percentage of citizens owned for a residence increased to 91% with an improvement rate of 17% compared to 2017, while the percentage of financing from the private sector reached 76%, which confirms the effectiveness of the approved financing policies.
The results of the measurement of customer satisfaction also showed that the percentage of happiness in housing services has doubled by 2021 in an indication of qualitative development in the efficiency of the government service system.
In this context, the Cabinet’s accreditation contributed to the new financing policy for the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program until 2041 in achieving these results, as the policy aims to issue 40 thousand housing support decisions divided into four time sessions, the first includes issuing 13 thousand decisions and at a cost of 11.5 billion dirhams with doubling the number of annual decisions compared to previous years, within the framework of the state’s efforts to enhance the sustainability of resources and raise the efficiency of public spending.
The new policy is based on an integrated model between the federal government and national banks, which contributes to reducing the financial burdens on the public treasury, and provides flexible financing alternatives to citizens.
The Ministry also launched a number of organizational initiatives in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates Central Bank; To address the challenges related to the application of the new policy, including the “Flexible loan initiative” that allows citizens to obtain housing financing that corresponds to their financial capabilities with the possibility of benefiting from the financing teams within a period of up to four years, in addition to the launch of the “Re -benefit from the value of housing support” to enable the citizen to re -use the support again in accordance with the housing changes in addition to the “Exclusive Pension Subscription Initiative from calculating the total salary” It enhances the fairness of the monthly income assessment when studying housing requests and provides wider opportunities for “housing support”.
In the context of the government’s efforts to simplify the procedures, the ministry launched the “Home” package, which had a share in winning the government bureaucracy tozor awards as the best team in the UAE government in the bureaucracy “the impact of people’s lives”; The package contributed to reducing the number of entities that the customer passes from from 11 to one side and the number of procedures from 14 to 3 and reducing the required documents from 10 to one document, thanks to integration and linking with the 28 partners, which resulted in the provision of more than 9 million working hours and reducing fuel consumption by 55 thousand liters and reducing emissions by about 586 thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide Accounts on the number of annual customers estimated at 5,000 customers.
The Ministry also launched the National Housing Platform “Dark” to be a unified window to provide advisory services, individual construction services and construction offers for citizens in cooperation with the Ministry of Lecture and the Social Takaful Fund for workers in the Ministry of Interior in addition to partnership with local housing programs.
In a new achievement that reflects the global status that the state enjoys in the housing sector, the UAE won the chairmanship of the General Assembly and the membership of the Executive Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Program “Al -Maal” in a step that enhances the state’s role in supporting international efforts in the areas of housing and sustainable urban planning, while the habitat in its membership includes 193 countries around the world.
His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, that the UAE continues thanks to the directives of the rational leadership, to achieve qualitative achievements in the housing sector, and that the housing support decisions issued during the first half of 2025 confirm the state’s firm commitment to providing the appropriate housing for the citizen, as the main pillar in the comprehensive development process.
His Excellency added that these qualitative achievements are the fruit of a strategic vision in which government efforts with the banking sector are integrated, within the new financing policy, aimed at empowering the Emirati family, enhancing the quality of life and sustainability of resources, indicating that the ministry seeks during the next stage to develop quality housing projects that keep pace with the needs of the future, establishes the principles of sound financial management and re -formulate traditional concepts to possess housing in a way Promoting the quality of life and achieving family stability and social and economic growth in the country.
