The Minister of Health chairs the first meeting of the National Council for Health Tourism

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, chaired the first meeting of the National Council for Health Tourism, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Sharif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Eng. Hassan Al -Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr. Sameh Al -Hanafi, Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Raafat Hindi Deputy Minister of Communications for Infrastructure and Digital Transformation Affairs. Institutionally, setting standards for evaluation and following up on performance, indicating that the committee will meet every three months and a report to the Prime Minister will be submitted. & Nbsp;

& nbsp; The meeting included presenting the Prime Minister’s decision No. 1688 of 2025 to establish the National Council for Health Tourism, discuss the mandates issued by the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism, which was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, reviewing the proposal to establish the electronic platform for health tourism, and also presenting the proposal for the criteria for the accession providers to the national platform for health tourism, the draft of the national health tourism strategy and the position of the meetings of the Supreme Committee for Tourism Therapeutic, formed No. 2813 of 2017 and the recommendations issued by those meetings during the 2017/2018. The meeting discussed the specializations of the committee’s work, which included developing a national strategy for health tourism, developing awareness programs and mechanisms, highlighting the importance of health tourism and promoting them and encouraging the participation of the private sector, preparing national statistics that define the number of beneficiaries of health tourism, reflecting the Egypt Center in the global indicators in this field, and also setting marketing policies to announce health tourism services with a unified national approach, and work to ensure the principle of equal opportunities between opportunities between The governmental and private sector in providing medical tourism services.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said that a proposal for standards for the joining of service providers has been reviewed for the national health tourism platform, which included (health services- hotel services and hospitality- transportation services- and logistics services) to ensure a distinguished health tourism experience and enhance the position of the Egyptian state As a global destination for health tourism, and also to ensure the quality and reliability of the national platform for health tourism. With all regulations related to health tourism and patient services in accordance with national and international regulations. Successful international experiences in this field, stressing that the proposed council will play an effective role in enhancing the sports marketing file for Egypt. The private sector is to participate effectively, in addition to preparing accurate databases and statistics that reflect the size of the benefit from health tourism services in Egypt. The requirements and procedures are accurate and transparent, and in a way that contributes to ensuring the quality of the health service provided and enhancing the state’s position as a destination for health tourism.
