Narcotics Prevention Forum .. Interactive societal platform for building a preventive family culture
Abu Dhabi, June 26 / WAM / Participants in the “Narcotics Prevention Forum”, which holds its activities from 19 to 29 June, confirmed on the island of Al -Mariya in Abu Dhabi under the slogan “A conscious family … a safe community”, on the occasion of the International Day for Narcotics Control 2025 that the forum is a community platform for building a preventive family culture that provides many educational and interactive activities in addition to reviewing some real experiences.
His Excellency Wafaa Mohamed Al Ali, Director of the Family Development Department at the Family Development Corporation, said in a statement to Emirates News Agency / WAM / that the Foundation’s participation comes through the provision of social consultations, which is the basis for protecting community members, as well as through discussion sessions in the presence and participation of a number of individuals, in which the importance of dialogue and effective listening during communication between family members to build a coherent family and a safe community.
She emphasized that the most challenges facing the family need their members to join hands with each other and the need for children to protect parental protection and psychological support against the changes of the current era by providing qualitative time to achieve that goal, noting that the family is the basis of society if the community is correct.
Lamia Ahmed Al -Zaabi, head of the drug prevention department at the General Administration of Federal Narcotics Control at the Ministry of Interior indicated that the aim of celebrating the International Day for Narcotics Control is to raise the level of individuals’ culture with drug damage and psychotropic substances, including programs and events and support strategic partners who provide their services in an interactive manner to gain the audience’s demand and participation.
She explained that more than 180 discussion sessions and 320 consulting sessions were held, pointing to the remarkable turnout of the youth and families category, in addition to the cooperation of the authorities such as the Ministry of Defense and National Service Primers, stressing the importance of being on this International Day to embody feelings of solidarity and spreading general culture among members of society.
The forum included a series of activities, the most prominent of which is police dogs, where the first assistant Khaled Al -Mansoori from the Security Inspection Department K9 at the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police in his statement to / WAM / that dogs participate in the offers in addition to their use in the traditional detection of drugs 30 years ago and also used in another detection that is unique and the first of its kind in the Middle East, which is the detection of electronic slides, which facilitates access to the accused and reduce crime.
For his part, Major Youssef Al Hammadi from the Drug Control Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police said that they are offered through their participation in the forum two services, which are the drug prevention scenario that simulates in a virtual manner and by using virtual reality technology VR, and also the use of artificial intelligence AI, pointing out that through the virtual environment similar to reality we see the person in the world of drug use and behavioral and environmental indicators that indicate Its use of narcotic substances, as well as physical indicators and the correct way to deal with cases, while the second service is an opportunity for hope that allows the user to apply for treatment while maintaining privacy, confidentiality and exemption from punishment in order to return to his normal life.
