The UAE participates in the third meeting of Sherba and Sherba’s deputies
Rio de Janeiro, July 5/ WAM/ His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al -Hajri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs and Sherba, UAE at the BRICS Group, participated in the third meeting of Sherba and Sherba’s deputies, which was held from June 30 to July 4, 2025, in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
This meeting comes within the framework of preparing for the upcoming seventeenth Brix summit, which will be held on July 6 and 7, 2025, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
During the meeting, the members discussed the drafting of the leadership statement and enhancing discussions on the main results under the presidency of Brazil.
In this context, His Excellency Al -Hajri expressed his appreciation for the presidency of Brazil for its distinguished leadership, and emphasized the constructive role that the UAE plays in contributing to the formulation of results that reflect the priorities of all member states of the BRICS group.
He also renewed the state’s commitment to economic cooperation and comprehensive pluralism, among the basic pillars of cooperation within the group.
In this regard, the UAE welcomed the adoption of three documents on global governance of artificial intelligence, the financing of climate work, and the partnership to eliminate diseases related to social factors.
It is noteworthy that the UAE joined the Brex Group as a full membership member in January 2024, in line with its broader vision in enhancing international cooperation, advancing sustainable development, and active participation with emerging economies.
The Brix Group is an important platform for the UAE for dialogue and policy coordination across the various regions, and through its membership, the state continues to call for balanced and comprehensive solutions to global challenges, and enhance its position as an open and dynamic economy in the heart of the global south.
