Dubai University hosts the international event for Moon Day 2025 in partnership with the International Kamar Village Association

Dubai, July 15 / WAM / Dubai University will host on the twentieth of this July the main event to celebrate the World Moon Day 2025, which corresponds to the first anniversary of human landing on the surface of the moon, in partnership with the International Qamar Village Association, which is concerned with strengthening international cooperation in the field of lunar economy development.

The choice of Dubai University to organize this global event for the first time in the region comes as an affirmation of the UAE’s advanced position in the space sector and in line with its efforts in building an advanced knowledge economy based on scientific research and innovation.

Dr. Issa Al -Bastaki, President of Dubai University, stressed that the university’s hosting of this global event represents a culmination of its career in supporting specialized education and scientific research in the field of space, especially after the establishment of the laboratory of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center within the university in 2018, indicating that the partnership with the Kamar Village Association reflects the university’s commitment to build strategic relations that contribute to developing national cadres in this vital sector.

For his part, Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director of the Center for Future Studies at the University and a member of the Consultative Committee for the International Moon Day, indicated that the program includes words of the main one of the senior officials of international space agencies, as well as an active participation of the Emirates Space Agency, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and international experts from the United States, Australia, Italy and Japan. He explained that the activities include a national competition for school and university students to design an Emirati base on the surface of the moon using artificial intelligence tools, during which the winners will be honored, and the Emirati team qualified for the NASA challenges for space applications will be honored and the display of student projects from higher technology colleges in space fields.

For his part, Dr. Giuseppe Repeli, President of the Kamar Village Association, expressed his happiness in cooperation with the University of Dubai, praising its distinguished presentation and its keenness to innovate, while Dr. Nasr Al -Sahaf, Chairman of the Board of the International Moon Day affirmed that hosting the event in Dubai reflects the growing Emirati presence in the scene of the global space.
