Aswan University is at the head of the alliance "Renewable energy and technology localization"

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the initial acceptance of the strategic alliance “Renewable Energy Systems and Technology Localization”, with the participation of Aswan University, to be one of the nine alliances approved within the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, in a step to enhance the role of South Upper Egypt as a promising region for innovation and sustainable development. An official letter containing the results of the evaluation that included more than 100 coalition proposals nationwide, which were evaluated according to 3 main criteria; The quality of the idea, the readiness of the partners, and the feasibility of implementation, according to which Aswan University and its allies were chosen to provide a pioneering national model that supports the transition towards clean energy and the green economy.
The Acting President of Aswan University indicated that the initial acceptance by the Ministry of Higher Education represents an important recognition of the state’s confidence in Aswan University and its ability to lead qualitative national projects in the fields of renewable energy.
He added, “We are committed to transforming scientific research into practical applications and emerging companies that serve economic development.” And social studies in South Upper Egypt.
He congratulated the university family and the work team led by Dr. Mohamed Abdelaziz Orabi, and all the partners who contributed to this achievement.
In turn, Dr. Mohamed Abdelaziz Orabi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, indicated that the success of the alliance came as a result of the integration of academic, industrial and societal efforts.
He said that the alliance includes a group of national partners, including Al-Azhar University, Al-Suwaidi University, and Elsewedy Electric, Sanabel Research and Development Company, Bakra Risk Finance Company, the startup companies Nournation and Atom, and the Umm Habiba Association, each of which plays a complementary role in supporting scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of renewable energy.
He added that the alliance is based on developing innovative solutions in clean energy, and localizing the technology of production, transmission and storage of energy, in addition to supporting the establishment of emerging companies capable of creating sustainable job opportunities within the governorates of South Upper Egypt.
He explained that this achievement confirms the university’s position. Aswan as one of the leading universities in the field of energy and scientific research, and its role in leading national partnerships that enhance competitiveness and achieve sustainable development in southern Egypt.
