Japan records a trade surplus of 153 billion yen last month

Tokyo on July 17 / WAM / The Japanese Ministry of Finance announced today, Thursday, a trade surplus of 153.1 billion yen (1.2 billion dollars).

Analysts expected a surplus of 353.9 billion yen, compared to a deficit of 638.6 billion yen during May, according to modified data, and 637.6 billion yen according to initial data.

Japan’s exports decreased during June by 0.5%, while analysts expected exports to grow by 0.5%, after contraction by 1.7% during the previous month.

On the other hand, Japan’s imports increased during the past month by 0.2%, while analysts expected to decline by 1.6% after a decrease of 7.7% during the previous month.
