The team is preparing for the World Cup in the World Cup in Austria

“Emirates Today” learned that the national football team is preparing to establish an external camp in Austria, during the period from the 25th and to the fifth of next August, as part of the first stage of the preparation program that was set by the technical staff led by the Romanian coach, Oario Cosmin, in preparation for the two matches of the qualifying attaché to the 2026 World Cup.

This came after the draw for the annex, which was recently withdrawn in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, left the national team in the first group, along with the Qatar and Oman teams.

Through the Austria camp, the technical staff seeks to exploit the presence of a number of players currently with their clubs in external camps, whether in Austria or other European countries, with the aim of choosing the best elements, and preparing them perfectly in preparation for the next challenge, especially since the camp will be held before the start of the new football season that begins on August 16, with the first round of the ADNOC Professional League.

The second stage of preparation is scheduled to start next September, and will continue until the date of the Appendix’s matches in October against Qatar and Oman.

The team will open its career in the World Cup attachment to face Oman on October 11, and concludes its matches with Qatar’s meeting on the 14th of the same month.

Qatar will host the first group matches, while Saudi Arabia will host the second group matches that include the “Green” side of Iraq and Indonesia.

The technical staff preferred to intensify the preparations, and to take the longest possible preparation period to ensure full players’ readiness. Cohen Cosmin, in coordination with the Football Association, is working on studying all the options available to ensure an ideal preparation, including playing friendly matches with teams that have a technical level similar to Qatar and Oman.

On the other hand, a coordination meeting between the technical and administrative bodies of the national team and the Football Association is expected to discuss arrangements related to preparing the team in the next stage, based on the results of the attachment lottery and knowledge of the necessary needs, whether in terms of camps or friendly matches, within the plan to prepare “Al -Abyad”.

It should be noted that the last gathering of the national team was last June, as it played two games against Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on 5 and 10 of the same month, within the ninth and ten rounds of the third round of the World Cup qualifiers.

According to the annex system, the matches are held in the league system from one stage in the gathering system, where the first place in each group qualifies directly to the World Cup, while the second place in the two groups in the first and leg matches on November 13 and 18, to determine the Asian team qualifying to the global attachment.

It is expected that members of the technical staff will make field visits to some foreign club camps in Europe, in coordination with the technical and administrative bodies of these clubs, with the aim of following up the physical and technical status of the nominated players, in preparation for choosing the final list of the expected camp in Austria.
