“Atwal” champion of the “Emirates Airline Cup” at the “Jebel Ali” track

The race, in its sixth round and the main “Umm Suqeim Cup,” designated for horses in the “par” category over a distance of 1,950 metres, with prizes amounting to 120,000 dirhams, also witnessed the victory of the horse “Secret Manner,” owned by “Nijar Burke, Taqaba Ebri Racing, and Joey Finney.”
The evening began with the only round dedicated to purebred Arabian horses, the “Porsche Cup,” which extended for a distance of 1,200 metres, with prizes amounting to 50,000 dirhams. The victory went to “AF Important” by Khaled Al Nabouda, under the supervision of coach Ernest Oertel, and led by jockey Marcelino Rodriguez.
The excitement continued towards the fourth round, the “Emirates Cup”, whose prizes are 100,000 dirhams, and which is allocated to purebred hybrid horses aged three years and above, in the “parity” category, during which the knight Silvestre de Sousa learned how to lead the horse “Longest” to stay close to the horses in the lead during the first stages of the round, which extended for a distance of 1,200 sandy meters, before unleashing it in the final stages, overtaking his rivals to the lead, and conclusively The finish line was in first place with a time of 1 minute, 12 seconds and 15 hundredths of a second.
In the sixth and main round, the horse “Circuit Manner”, under the supervision of trainer Bobat Simar, defied expectations, after being led by jockey Andrew Slattery, to cross the finish line in first place with a time of one minute, 59 seconds and 47 hundredths of a second.
The evening witnessed the brilliance of the horses of the international “Shadwell” team, winning three titles, the first of which came with the colt “Muniya” under the supervision of trainer Musabah Al Muhairi, who was led by the jockey Antonio Friso, to victory in the second half, “Al Shafar Investment”, which extended for a distance of 1,400 metres, and took place within the “Da’im” initiative program, and whose prizes amounted to 72 thousand dirhams, before his stablemate “Motani” added, under the supervision of John Hyde, and led by the jockey. Daniel Tudhope won the third round title held within the UAE Series of speed races for horses aged three years and above over a distance of 1200 metres, with prizes amounting to 80 thousand dirhams.
Under the supervision of trainer Doug Watson, the horse “Amjad” completed the “Shadwell” hat-trick after the knight, Patrick Dobbs, led him to victory in the seventh and closing round, the “Al-Hudhayfah Cup”, designated for beginner horses, from three years of age and above, for a distance of 1,950 metres, with prizes amounting to 72 thousand dirhams.
The title of the fifth round went to the “Al Awir Stakes Race”, designated for purebred hybrid horses in the “Parity” category, over a distance of 1,600 sandy meters, and its prizes amounted to 90 thousand dirhams. The victory was for the horse “Diamond Dealer”, owned by “Athba Racing”, under the supervision of trainer Bobat Simar, and led by jockey Tag O’Shea.
