Agriculture: 8.5 million doses of vaccination for livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever so far

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced that 8.5 million vaccination doses had been given to livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever, since the launch of the national vaccination campaign, which was launched by the General Authority for Veterinary Services in all governorates of the Republic.

According to an official report received by Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, from Dr. Hamid Al-Aqnas, Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, about the efforts and activities of the National Livestock Vaccination Campaign, field veterinary teams have In all governorates, 4.5 million heads of livestock are vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, in addition to vaccinating 4 million heads of livestock with the Rift Valley fever vaccine, while campaign work continues in all governorates.

The report indicated that vaccination campaigns are carried out periodically, three times a year, as part of the state’s plan to build strong and sustainable immunity among livestock, ensuring their protection from epidemic diseases and contributing to supporting food security for citizens.
