Sharjah Police launches a campaign "Summer without accidents"

Sharjah, July 24/ WAM/ The General Command of Sharjah Police, represented by the Department of Vehicles License and Drivers, and the Technical Examination Department in cooperation with the Enock Group “Registration” and “Outope” today launched a comprehensive awareness campaign entitled “Summer without accidents”, as part of its continuous efforts to reduce accidents, and consolidate the culture of prevention through effective partnerships with the private sector.

The launch of the initiative was attended by Brigadier Dr. Jassim bin Haddi Al -Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of the Department for Operations and Security Support, Brigadier Khaled Mohamed Al -Kai, Director of the Vehicles Licensing and Drivers Department, Rashid Ali Gharib, Director of Operations Department in “Registration”, and Major Marwan Obaid Al -Naqbi, Head of Technical Examination Department.

The “Summer Without Accidents” campaign focused on enhancing the traffic awareness of drivers during the summer, by providing free services to examine vehicles in the “registration” centers in the Emirate of Sharjah, while highlighting the risk of neglecting tire examination, due to the high temperatures and frequent travel and travel during this period, which increases the possibility of tire damage or their explosion.

The campaign urged drivers to examine the tire pressure, review its validity date, and pay attention to any cracks that may threaten the integrity of the vehicle, given that these factors are among the most prominent causes of serious road accidents.

Brigadier Dr. Jassim bin Haddi Al -Suwaidi stressed that the campaign embodies the keenness of the Sharjah Police on the safety of road users, through pre -emptive services that guarantee the readiness of vehicles, indicating that the tire examination is one of the priorities of preventive measures that may save the life of the driver and his companions, and contribute to reducing accidents, especially in the summer atmosphere, and praised the constructive cooperation with the campaign partners, “registration” and “Outope” and their efforts In the success of the initiative and enhancing the culture of safety in the emirate and the state.

The campaign includes the implementation of random technical examinations on the roads, as well as organizing field visits to a number of government agencies to examine employee vehicles and ensure their suitability for safe use.

The campaign also includes publishing direct awareness points, distributing educational publications, broadcasting awareness messages across the various media and social media platforms, and in the most used languages among drivers’ categories to ensure access to a broader segment of society.
