Activating housing and academic excellence for higher education

The Ministry of Community Empowerment has announced the activation of the housing and academic excellence of higher education, which is stipulated in the supplementary bonuses system in the support and social empowerment program, confirming its commitment to providing a stable living environment, and stimulating investment in human capital for beneficiary families.
The ministry said, in a press statement, yesterday: “The Al -Alawatan embodies an integrated Emirati model that combines direct support for families and the provision of incentives that enhance independence and excellence in the long run, in line with the goals of the program in empowering man and enhancing his active participation in society.”
She added: “The housing allowance is one of the approved complementary bonuses, and aims to support the families benefiting from the social support and empowerment program that does not obtain any form of government housing support, and this bonus was designed to suit the number of family members and their residential and living conditions, which makes it an essential element in achieving family stability, which in turn is a first step towards real empowerment.” The value of the bonus is determined according to the number of family members and the type of housing, as the ministry distinguishes between families residing in independent housing and those that share housing with other families in the same unit, in a manner that guarantees the provision of support in proportion to the reality of each family and its own circumstances.
The Ministry explained that the academic excellence allowance in higher education aims to support the encouragement of children of families benefiting from the social support and empowerment program to continue their higher education, and to enhance the continuity of their superior academic performance, by providing additional support to the children of these families who achieve distinguished levels of university academic achievement.
She added: «The value of the distinguished son’s premium is raised academically to a maximum of 3,200 dirhams per month, granted to outstanding students registered in the higher education institutions approved within the state, who achieve a cumulative rate of at least 3.3 out of 4.0, which reflects the state’s commitment to investing in promising energies and developing national competencies.”
