Under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak…the launch of the first forum for Emirati and Kuwaiti women

The first forum for Emirati and Kuwaiti women, organized by the General Women’s Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the sisterly State of Kuwait, began today, and will continue until next February 3, under the slogan “We are together… and together we are… and together we create tomorrow”, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
The holding of the forum comes within the framework of the directives of the wise leadership to celebrate the established fraternal relations that bring together the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly State of Kuwait, and to enhance paths of joint cooperation in various fields, especially in the field of empowering women and supporting their contribution to the process of sustainable development.
Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, in her opening speech, delivered on behalf of Her Highness by the Secretary General of the General Women’s Union, Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, said that the first forum for Emirati and Kuwaiti women embodies the belief of the United Arab Emirates in the importance of joint action and the integration of efforts in creating a brighter future for our societies and countries, and comes based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” to celebrate With the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the UAE and the sisterly State of Kuwait, within the activities of the UAE-Kuwaiti Relations Week, “The UAE and Kuwait… are brothers forever.”
Her Highness stressed that what unites the two brotherly countries is a living story of brotherhood created by positions, consolidated by trust, and united by visions, noting that the forum constitutes a bridge linking a legacy that we cherish and a future that we share in creating, in light of the harmony of the “Mother of the Emirates 50:50” vision with the “New Kuwait 2035” vision, which confirms that investing in people is the truest approach to building prosperous and stable societies.
Her Highness praised Kuwaiti women and the influential contributions they have made to the process of development and construction, stressing that the forum represents a qualitative milestone in the process of Emirati-Kuwaiti cooperation, enhances institutional coordination and opens broader horizons for joint work, in a way that serves women’s issues and supports sustainable development paths in the two brotherly countries.
Her Highness appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the sisterly State of Kuwait, and all participating Emirati and Kuwaiti parties, for their cooperation and appreciated efforts, which embodied the spirit of true partnership between the two countries.
The forum combines real attendance and virtual participation, and aims to highlight the pivotal role of Emirati and Kuwaiti women in consolidating historical ties of brotherhood, by documenting common memory and recalling the values ​​and positions that women contributed to formulating and creating their societal impact.
The forum seeks to strengthen the partnership between Emirati and Kuwaiti women in the process of sustainable development by exchanging expertise and successful experiences in various sectors, in addition to providing a dialogue platform that brings together women leaders to discuss priority issues and exchange visions about challenges and opportunities in a way that serves the family, society and development.
The Forum envisions a future led by women through joint initiatives and practical recommendations that contribute to improving the quality of life and building a future based on values ​​and innovation.
For her part, Al Suwaidi stressed that organizing the first forum for Emirati and Kuwaiti women comes as an extension of the UAE’s established approach to enhancing ways of cooperation with Gulf, Arab and international countries, in support of women’s issues, and consolidating its role as an essential partner in the process of sustainable development.
She said that the fraternal relations between the UAE and the sisterly State of Kuwait represent a shining model of integration and cooperation, praising the qualitative achievements made by Kuwaiti women and their active presence in various fields of development, and stressed that these successes are the result of a conscious leadership vision that believed in the role of women and their ability to make change.
She added: “I have closely witnessed the development journey of Kuwaiti women, and witnessed their journey full of success and giving, and the progress they have achieved reflects a firm will and an ambition that does not know the impossible. Today, this forum embodies a space for the convergence of experiences, the exchange of experiences, and the building of future partnerships that enhance the presence of women on the paths of sustainable development.”
In turn, the Head of Strategic and Development Affairs at the General Women’s Union, Engineer Ghalia Ali Al-Mannai, confirmed that the first forum for Emirati and Kuwaiti women reflects a well-established institutional trend of the Union in building effective partnerships and translating leadership visions into joint courses of action that support women’s empowerment and enhance their contribution to sustainable development.

She explained that organizing this forum comes within a series of qualitative initiatives and forums that the General Women’s Union is keen to launch with sisterly and friendly countries, under the generous patronage and continuous follow-up of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, in a way that consolidates the position of women as a strategic partner in development, and enhances regional and international cooperation in women’s issues.
The forum includes two main sessions. The first session addresses the themes of “Women and Creating the Future,” “Women and Advanced Technology,” “Peacekeeping and Security,” and “Women’s Sports,” while the second session focuses on highlighting the role of women in vital sectors including media, tourism, logistics, and supply chains, in addition to the fields of climate and renewable energy.
The activities also include holding an accompanying exhibition for five days following the official opening of the forum, which constitutes an open, interactive physical space, held at the headquarters of the General Women’s Union, and translates the concepts of empowerment and partnership into direct, realistic experience.
The exhibition brings together supporting entities, productive families, and small and emerging companies, to reflect real models of economic and social empowerment for women, and provides opportunities for dialogue, networking, and building professional and community relationships.
The exhibition highlights the cultural and social dimension of empowerment, by displaying handicrafts, heritage works, and popular Emirati and Kuwaiti foods, in a scene that embodies the role of women in preserving heritage and transforming it into sustainable economic and social value, and confirms their role as a cultural and economic bridge between the two countries.
The forum and the accompanying exhibition reflect the General Women’s Union’s commitment to enhancing women’s presence in various sectors, and supporting their economic, social and cultural empowerment, which contributes to building a sustainable and prosperous society, strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and close cooperation between the UAE and the sisterly State of Kuwait, and confirms the role of women as an active partner in formulating a common future based on values, innovation and sustainable development.
