The former coach of the football team of Al Dhaid Club, Mohamed Saeed Al Tunaiji, confirmed that the first division at the present time lacks the technical pleasure that distinguished him 10 years ago, due to the qualification of the strong teams to play in the professional league, which has lost the “amateur” competitions a lot of clubs and competition.
Al -Tunaiji told «Emirates Today» that “the current league for the first degree has radically changed from the previous one,” adding: “In the past, there were strong teams that contributed to raising the level of the league, such as Ajman, the Emirates, Dubai, Kalba, and the people (former The technical level of the first division.
He continued: «The Al Dhaid team was one of the strongest teams that competed to ascend to the professionals, and it was very close to qualifying in one of the seasons, had it not been for his negligence in the opportunity during the last match.
Al -Tunai pointed out that “building the teams in a strong and competitive manner depends on material support, which enables clubs to attract the best players,” considering that the decline in budgets allocated to the first teams was one of the main factors in the low technical level, and added: “Some first -class clubs do not have an official headquarters or private stadiums, and allowed them to participate, but they withdraw from the league in the middle of the season, which negatively affects the technical and administrative level of the competition.”
Al -Tunaiji revealed that he stopped working as a coach due to the lack of team building elements, the absence of talent exploring, and the decline in performance development that depends significantly on the availability of adequate support.
In a related context, Al -Tuni described the national team’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup through the attachment as balanced, saying: “The Emirates group is balanced, and the historical rapprochement in the results of the Emirates teams, Qatar, and the Sultanate of Oman, making the expectation of the results difficult.” He pointed out that “the use of new coaches by the three teams increases the difficulty of the task, and gives more ambiguity to the scene.”
It is noteworthy that the coach, Mohamed Al -Tunaiji, took over the training of Al Dhaid Club from 2005 to 2022, and during that period he achieved distinguished results compared to the available capabilities, most notably the team’s arrival to the quarter -finals in the President’s Cup in two seasons, in addition to winning the second place cup for the first division (B).
