"Liwa Ajman for wet and honey".. Establishing the national identity and implanting heritage values

Ajman on August 2/ WAM/ The activities of the tenth session of the Liwa Ajman and Honey Festival, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al -Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and organized by the Department of Tourism Development in Ajman, is organized by a wide participation of palm and beekeepers from different parts of the state and Gulf and Arab countries.
Hind Al -Marzouki, Director of Tourism Development and Marketing Department, Director of the Office of Culture and Arts, Vice -Chairman of the Liwa Ajman Festival for Wet and Honey, confirmed that the festival – which is held at the Emirates Hospitality Center – has a large turnout from visitors locally and internationally, due to its growing status and program full of various activities of all groups.
She pointed to the role of the festival, in supporting local heritage and promoting sustainable tourism, in addition to providing a platform for exchanging experiences between farmers and beekeepers.
For its part, Kholoud bin Hindi, the popular market official, farmers, beekeepers, and a member of the organizing committee, explained that the festival hosts 61 exhibitors from various emirates of the country, who provide heritage products in an interactive atmosphere that reflects the originality of the Emirates culture and highlights the status of Ajman, a distinctive tourist destination.
Maitha Al Shamsi, a member of the Organizing Committee, responsible for the craftsmen in the exhibition, shed light on the participation of craftsmen who display a traditional letter that was not present in previous sessions such as “Khadat Al -Saqa”, along with Emirati heritage industries such as Al Baraqa and Palm Weaving.
Fatima Al -Raisi, a member of the organizing committee, responsible for the accompanying workshops, indicated that the festival includes morning and evening interactive workshops in cooperation with a number of local authorities, targeting all ages and focusing on environmental awareness and national values through entertainment and education.
The festival program includes artistic performances, competitions, popular festivals, workshops in agriculture and beekeeping, in addition to a special corner for children, while the Abu Dhabi Police Music Ensemble participates in heritage music performances that enhance the cultural atmosphere of the festival.
