Atomic energy: Using radiation processing techniques to enhance food security

The Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, in cooperation with the Arab Atomic Energy Authority, holds a specialized training course on & nbsp; the use of food processing techniques with radiation, to enhance food security and consumer protection, & nbsp at the authority’s headquarters in Nasr City, with the participation of a group of Arab experts and researchers in the fields of food and safety. The international, that this session comes within the authority’s plan to support Arab capabilities in the field of peaceful atomic energy applications. On his part, Dr. Tariq Al -Maghrabi, representative of the Arab Atomic Energy Authority, stressed that cooperation with the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority embodies the authority’s orientation towards enhancing Arab integration in the vital technical fields. Ali Hammad, the local coordinator of the course, that the scientific program includes theoretical lectures and practical applications that cover various radioactive food detection techniques, including the use of thermolumines communication, the DNA analyzes, and the spindle electronic resonance (ESR), in addition to a full explanation of & nbsp; for the steps for receiving and exposing food For radiation in the radiation units. The course concludes by granting certificates to the participants, and recommendations to enhance the oversight and legislation of foodstuffs in the Arab world, in order to support food safety and facilitate trade exchange. 17 trainees & nbsp; from 7 Arab countries participate in the training course: & nbsp; Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain, and Mauritania.
